CIF State Meet Information:

We will be leaving the Bella Vista parking lot around 1:30 pm (will confirm time when we get closer to departure time) on Thursday, May 26. Please contact Coach U to let him know your travel plans. The Bella Vista team will be staying at the:

Courtyard by Marriott Fresno Clovis
1450 Shaw Ave
Clovis, California 93611

This hotel is likely sold out because the state meet is in town. Parents that wish to go down should try to book their own hotel nearby. The team will be staying Thursday and Friday nights and checking out before noon on Saturday before the State Meet Finals. After the finals on Saturday we will head home late. I will be sending out a more detailed itinerary (who is driving with who, rooming with who, and a timeline of activities etc.) to the group in a day or two.

More information coming soon...

Sac Joaquin Section Division 2 Hurdle Crew: Bella Vista is the host of the SJS D2 Prelims and Finals on May 11 and 13. We need to put together a hurdle crew made up of team members who will not be qualifying on from the CVC Finals. This would be the freshman and sophomores in the frosh/soph division at the CVC Finals or juniors and seniors who don't qualify. The hurdle crew's job is to simply set up hurdles for the races then put them away in the hurdle bin. It is important that if you sign up you are committed and don't flake out on the coaching staff. Follow this link to sign up to help with hurdles. You will need to be at BV on Wednesday, May 11 from 4:30 to 7:30 and on Friday, May 13 from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm. If you help with the hurdle crew you will receive the t-shirt below to wear at the meet and keep afterwards. We have small, medium and large sizes.

Arrival Instructions: Hurdle crew members should arrive at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, May 11 and 5:30 pm on Friday, May 13. Report to Coach Sup for your t-shirt and instructions on how we will organize the hurdle races.

Sacramento Meet of Champions Student Volunteer Sign Up: Guess what? The Bella Vista track and field team is host to one of the most prestigious track meets in California. It is called the Sacramento Meet of Champions. Because we are the host school we need every Bronco athlete's help to put this meet on. Helping at this meet directly affects your ability to achieve and receive your end of the year awards (letter awards etc). This means that not helping at this meet jeopardizes your chances of receiving your letter awards (follow this link to view how to recieve your awards on the last page of the team handbook). You will see that you need a certain number of volunteer hours dedicated to the BV track and field team to receive your award. Follow this link to sign up for the position that suits you. It is a good idea to choose an event or job that you are familiar with. We need all hands on deck for this one because we can't do it without you! (posted 3-29-22)

Bronco Speed Festival Meet Information: Most of the meet information for the Bronco Speed Fiestival can be viewed at this link. Since BV is the host school all attending athletes must also realize that they are there to do two things. 1. Compete, and 2. help the coaching staff run the meet. This means that when asked you will need to help move the blocks to the next starting line, help move the hurdles on and off the track and a number of other jobs that need to get done. On Saturday, don't dwell in your own little world. Be apart of the BV track community and pitch in. Always be prepared to help someone in need when given the opportunity. GO BRONCOS!

Arrival Times: All competing athletes must arrive at Bella Vista at 8:00 am ready to help the coaches with meet set up.

Departure Times: All competing athletes should be prepared to stay to the end (about 12:30 pm) to help clean up all of the equipment used in the meet.

Parent Meeting: There will be a team parent meeting on Thursday, March 3 at 7:00 pm at BV in room J1 (atrium in STEM building - click for BV school map). Topics of discussion will be team rules and expectations, season schedule, transportation to away meets, and ways you as parents can help your son or daughter as well as the BV track community. We have a very large team this year so it is important that we get everyone involved and this meeting is the first step. Hope to see you all there! Since our meeting is on campus and inside we will need to wear masks. (posted 2-28-22)

Glenn Poole Invitational Information: On Saturday, February 26, athletes should arrive at Oakmont High School one hour before their event is scheduled to start.

Running events will be run in what we call a "rolling schedule" meaning they will start at 9:00 am and after that follow the order on the schedule. However, after the 9:00 am start the times for each running event will be uncertain. Below is an estimated time schedule for the running events. As you will see the long and triple jump are on a set schedule but the high jump, pole vault and throwing events are on a rolling schedule. Practice schedule for the week of (Feb 21-25):

(posted 2-12-22)

Event Sign Up: On Monday there will be an "event sign up" at practice. There will be tables set up with each roster (frosh/soph girls and boys and varsity girls and boys). Simply find your name and put an "X" in the box of the events that you want to do this season. This is not an actual sign up for anything and in no way are you committed to do the events that you chose. It is just a way for the coaches to get a better understanding of what events each athlete wants to do. (posted 2-12-22)

Time Trial Wednesday, February 16: Our practice on Wednesday, February 16 will be a time trial. This is a practice not a meet so dress for practice (no uniforms). Think of it as a workout that is being timed. Sprinters, hurdlers and jumpers will be timed in the 100 meters and 400 meters for the day's workout. Distance runners will be timed in the 1600 meters. It is very important that all team members attend because the times that you run will be how the coaches decide who runs in the first meet and makes the relay teams. (posted 2-12-22)

Parent Volunteers for Time Trial: We could use a couple of parent volunteers to help at the finish line during Wednesday's time trial. There is already one signed up but he could use some help at the finish line organizing the runners as they cross. You can sign up at this link. (posted 2-12-22)

Uniform Store Re-opening: We have had a lot of team members join after our uniform store closed. If you would like to purchase a uniform instead of check one out please click here to email Coach U. If we get enough athletes wanting to buy a uniform we will re-open the store. Follow this link for more information on uniform options. If you would prefer checking a jersey out (like a library book) see the next post. (posted 2-12-22)

Uniform Checkout: Starting on Thursday (2-17) and Friday (2-18) Coach U will be checking out uniform jerseys to those who chose not to purchase their own. This will be done after practice and announced during practice on both days. If you missed either day we will continue to hand them out during the Presidents Week off at practice. Uniforms that are checked out need to be returned at the end of the season (washed please!) (posted 2-12-22)

First Meet February 26: Our first meet of 2022 will be on Saturday, February 26 at Oakmont High School. We understand that it is the last weekend of our week off and that families may be out of town on vacation. It is the coaching staffs hope that you stick with your committment to the team but again, we understand that some families will be gone. Because of this, it is very important that you let your event coach know if you are committed to attending the meet. There are a limited number of slots that we can fill for weekend meets and we want to get as many of our athletes entered as we possibly can so please let us know if you can or can't attend that first meet. (posted 2-12-22)

The 2022 Season Off and Running!: We officially begin our 2022 track and field season on Monday, February 7. This means that practice is no longer voluntary but manditory. ROLL CALL WILL BE TAKEN DAILY. If you need to be absent from practice you will need to email Coach U to let him know the reason you are absent (distance runners email Coach Kuphaldt). If you are still out for a winter sport or still haven't gotten cleared on sportsnet then please contact Coach U and let him know your status.

Follow this link to read our team handbook. It contains all of the team rules and guidelines that you will be responsible for.

The coaching staff is looking forward to working with you this year! GO BRONCOS! (posted 2-6-22)

Track and Field Pre-Season Conditioning: The Bella Vista Track and Field Team will begin pre-season conditioning starting Tuesday, January 18 at 3:30 pm. Meet at the BV track (in the stadium) and wear something you can work out in. You will need to be cleared through the BV athletics department before you can participate. For information on the clearance process follow this link.

It's January and it could be cold so bring a sweatshirt and sweatpants that you can warm up in and wear when you are done. We will meet every week day Monday through Friday with the exception of Monday, January 17 because of the Holiday.
