70th Annual Le Febvre Relays - from Rick Foley
Placer athletes must have known Ralph Le Febvre was watching from above as all three divisions were swept by Placer's hard working track and field group!!!
Most important we had over 100 volunteers host 22 schools for an incredible fun filled day and some great track marks to boot. We had 7 new records set on this historic occasion.
Ray Nickset of Lodi High tied a fantastic high jump mark of 6'8", a record that has stood since 1988. He just missed setting a new personal record @ 6'10" with a breath taking second attempt.
The Lodi girls smoked in the 4x65 meter hurdle race running way in front at 40.09, also a new record.
Miss Edwards of Whitney High school set a new meet record in the VG Long Jump with a beautiful 18'0" mark, amazing!!!
Placer's JV boys Shuttle hurdle set a new meet record of 42.4 seconds
Placer's Tawny Lambuth and Bella Vista's Diane McAllister will share a new Pole Vault meet record of 11'6", a great early season mark, both had solid attempts at 12'0".
Reno High VB ran a super fast record setting 1:34.10 FAT 800 sprint medley, they were beautiful to watch, and they came back later in the day to run in front of Placer's 4x400 relay at a very solid early season mark of 3:26.62 to Placer's 3:29.37, although the later was not a new record it is still fast for march.
