Sac State Classic (3-7-20)
It seems as if it always rains at the Sac State Classic but that didn't hinder the Broncos from posting some excellent marks on Saturday (Results). Three all time list marks were established yesterday the first coming from sophomore Sean Lacey in the 3200 meters. Sean ran a personal record 9:52.91 to place him 6th in the race and 22nd overall in school history. We had two all time list marks in the 100 meters at Sac State, one from Katie O'Brien who won her heat in 13.02 good for 13th all time. The other came from Jacob Butler who ran 11.50 placing him 20th on the boys list. Bella Vista also had three medalists (top 3 placements in each event) on Saturday. Shae Wright took second in the pole vault at 10-00, Rachel Radcliff went 34-06 in the triple jump for 3rd and Isabella Chilcutt high jumped 5-04 for third as well. Despite the rain we also posted several personal bests in most of the events we competed in. This is a very good sign this early in the season and under the conditions we competed in!
Clarke Massey Relays (2-29-20)
Cordova High School - The 2020 version of the CMR proved to be another huge medal haul for the Broncos at their first outing of the season. BV won nine events with seven teams taking second place and seven taking third. The Lady Broncos led the way not only scoring in every event but posting a medaling team in every event as well. The girls won five events followed by the frosh/soph boys who won a total of four. The girls won the overall team division title as did the frosh/soph boys with the varsity boys taking seventh. Full results at this link. All time list marks from Rachel Radcliff and Emily Woosley in the long jump as well as girls shuttle hurdles, 4 x 100, 4 x 200, 4 x 800, and sprint medley teams. BV Bronco Time Trial (2-12-20)
Bella Vista High School - The Broncos posted some impressive marks in the season's first use of fully automatic timing in our low key time trial. On the boy's side Jacob Butler cruised to a easy 11.85 in the 100 meters. Anthony Page and Gilbert Sanchez Torrez showed a steady pace in running 4:46.19 and 4:47.42 respectively in the 1600 meters. The girl's were equally sound led by Rachel Radcliff winning the 100 in a solid 13.29 with sophomore Leila Swenson pounding out a great early season mark in the 1600 of 5:31.75. The girls 400 was the race of the day with three girls running in the 63's with Isa Rasmussen leading the way finishing in 63.30 followed by Isabella Chilcutt's 63.75 and Sarah Unterholzner's 63.90.
